The Basement has been home to the popular Wednesday and Thursday night Life Drawing classes for nearly 15 years. It is also an ideal room for meetings and other art classes such as Harrie McManus's Tuesday morning classes.
The Basement Room is also popular with small groups and committees for their regular meetings.
As part of our ongoing restoration plans it is intended to enlarge the space giving the Club additional exhibition space and for use for smaller functions.
The Arts Club Bar has served Dublin's Artistic Community for over a Century. The bar is seen as the hub of the Club where like-minded people can gather to discuss all aspects of the Arts.
It regularly sees lively exchanges of ideas as well as outbursts of song and poetry and always much laughter. It is also where exhibitions by artist members can be seen. Exhibitions are usually changed every third week.
Admittance is solely for members and their guests, or parties using the Dining or Drawing Room facilities.
Anthony O'Grady is the manager of the Club's Restaurant. He trained in the Ballymaloe Cookery School, also working in the acclaimed restaurant. He has also worked in L'Ecrivain under the watchful eye of Derry Clarke, one of Ireland's leading chefs.
Anthony has worked in France, Switzerland, Spain and Australia, as well as cooking on cruise ships in the Mediterranean.
The Club's beautifully appointed Dining Room has been refurbished to maximise the splendour of its location in the heart of Georgian Dublin. The room is one of the most beautiful in the house with original Georgian plaster work on the ceiling. The dining room holds a fine collection of Beatrice Elvery cartoons depicting the early history of the Club. Over the past 100 years the dining room has hosted many special occasions including literary lunches for Ireland's premiere writers.
Anthony can also provide catering facilities for members wishing to arrange parties and special dinners in the Club's Function Room.
The restaurant is open on Thursday nights when exhibitions are held and Friday and Saturday nights every week. For booking information please contact Anthony O'Grady on 086 8814185 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
